Fair Play Rules

Age Divisions & Ball Sizes

Match Duration

Note: Semifinals and Finals include +5 minutes added to total match time.
If tied after regulation, teams proceed directly to 5 penalty kicks per side. No extra time will be played.

Tournament Format

Phase 1: Group Stage

• Round Robin format
• Each team plays 3 guaranteed matches
• Rankings based on: Points → Goal Difference → Goals Scored

Phase 2: Knockout Stage

• Top 4 teams per division advance
• Semifinal Matchups:
o Semi 1: 1st place vs 4th place
o Semi 2: 2nd place vs 3rd place
• Final: Winners of each semifinal play for the championship

Team & Player Requirements

Teams must register a minimum of 15 players.

Team rosters must be submitted before the tournament begins, including:
o Full names of all players
o Shirt numbers

Player ID required on team registration day.

Teams must arrive 30 minutes before kickoff.

Each team must bring its own hydration/water.

Each team must have two uniform sets: one for home and one for away.

It is up to each Team, to have their own medical travel insurance.

Substitutions

• Unlimited substitutions allowed
• Players may re-enter the match after being subbed out

Field Access, Conduct & Other Information

Parents are not allowed on the field at any time.

On-site medical assistance will be available throughout the tournament to respond promptly to any injuries or health concerns.

No alcohol, drugs, or smoking permitted in or around the field.

Violence, racism, or abusive behavior toward any team, player, referee, or tournament organizer will not be tolerated. Offending teams, players, coaches or adults may face expulsion from the tournament.

Players & Coaches Must stay at the designated hotel for the Pura Vida Futbol Challange.

Discipline & Cards

• Yellow and red cards will be used during matches
• No accumulation of yellow cards
• Red card = automatic one-game suspension

Forfeits & No-Shows

A withdrawal or no-show will result in a 3-point award to the opposing team
